UPDATED, 10FEB15, 9p.m. Eastern: NBC reports that Czahor resigned Tuesday after apologizing for “regrettable and insensitive comments.” According to NBC,
The remarks by Ethan Czahor weren’t made public. But the “Right to Rise PAC” said in a statement that while Czahor has apologized for the comments, “they do not reflect the views of Governor Bush or his organization and it is appropriate for him to step aside. We wish him the best.”
As it turns our, one of Ethan Czahor’s first tasks as Chief Technology Officer for Jeb Bush turns out to be scrubbing his Twitter history of any tweets deemed “offensive.” These tweets include multiple mentions of “sluts” and attacks on “gay men.”
In an e-mail to USA Today, Kristy Campbell wrote
Governor Bush believes the comments were inappropriate. They have been deleted at our request. Ethan is a great talent in the tech world and we are very excited to have him on board the Right to Rise PAC.
BuzzFeed collected an assortment of tweets before they were deleted, to include ones with derogatory statements regarding women:
There are other addressing gay men and gyms.
And last but not least, Czahor seems to have forgotten to mention that he was instructed to delete those tweets:
